Mission Inn has become our home! Had to redo it again, and it was awesome again. But, I think as we age, our golf game is aging faster than we are. The course beat us up, but we had a good time as always. Righteous time for sure! We had a great time! Lessons learned: we need time to at least go to Publix and buy beer -- agenda was too packed! Heck, we didn't even have time to get beer from the parking lot onto our carts we were running so tight! (Attendees: Joe B., Jack B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Freerange, Ponch, B. Good time at Eager's humble abode. Hope he can improve the place before next year. (Attendees: Joe B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Freerange, Ponch, Juice, Nolan, Nolan's buddy, Pablo K., Boog K., Willamina K.)
This trip was like Mama Bear's porridge! Everything was juuuuust right! The venue was great. The courses were great (maybe a little hard for us hacks). The customer service was awesome. The food was awesome! We will be back! (Attendees: Joe B., Jack B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Freerange, Ponch, B. Arren, Juice, Nolan, FedZech, Delgado Sombreado)
Tried something new. Was cool. RT Jones designed course in a WV State Park = tremendous value. $32 to play 18 with cart! Cool little downtown with bars and good restaurants. Hotel onsite at the park fills quickly and has crummy food. Catholic church right in the middle of downtown. (Attendees: Joe B., Bill B., Jimmy B., Boog K.)
Great courses again. Stayed in World Woods villas which were good for hanging out, but still a drive from the course. No bars nearby or good restaurants. Great time, though. (Attendees: Joe B., Bill B., Jack B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Freerange, Ponch, Juice, Nolan, Swivel, Trey)
We tried the sister course to Innisbrook, but this sister must have been adopted. One of the 18 hole "on premises" courses was a 30 minute drive. Customer service was weak. Food was ok. Weather was cold and windy. Eags ruined it by inviting ingrates and making a lemon theme. (Attendees: Joe B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Billy B., Freerange, Ponch, FedZech, K. Arren, B. Really nice venue. Best customer service in all of Florida. Copperhead course (a PGA stop) was a bit too hard for us hacks. (Attendees: Joe B., Bill B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Billy B., Freerange, Ponch)
2013 Winter - Florida - World Woods: Great courses, but accommodations at Plantation Inn at Crystal River were (1) too far away - 30 minute drive to course, (2) marked by bad customer service - 15 minutes to get a waiter at their main restaurant; 15 minutes to get a beer. Horrible. (Attendees: Joe B., Bill B., Quigwerth, Hombray, Eags, Billy B., Freerange, Ponch)
Nice 18-hole track. Nice accommodations, but a little fru fru for our crew. We went during the Sweet 16 weekend of March Madness. Not a good idea -- games are day time which doesn't work well with golf. Even when we got to the bar for basketball, the hotel bar was beat after 8PM. Plus, Naples is a haven for Minnesotans don't ya know? Problem is all patrons and bartenders wanted to watch The Frozen Four instead of The Final Four. Weirdos! (Attendees: Joe B., Bill B., Quigwerth, HomBray, Swivel, Daddio)
